As a professional soccer player, I am creating the reality that I have always dreamed of. I am able to live my life the way I want to because of the many people I have met. “SAIKAI31” is a platform for encountering new “Awareness “, “Supporting Friends”, and “the power to move forward”. I will be introducing the concept in more detail on this website, so do keep an eye out for it.
• Born in Maastricht, the Netherlands in 1994 to a Dutch father and a Japanese mother. Moved to Japan with his family at the age of two. He belonged to the Ventforet Kofu youth division for six years, from 2008 to 2013.
After graduating from high school, he went back to the Netherlands alone.
• In July 2013, he joined the dutch first division club FC Dordrecht. On May 10, 2015, he made his top team debut, playing full-time at right back position against FC Twente in the 33rd round of the Eredivisie. He signed a professional contract with the club on June 15, 2015. The team was relegated to the second division the following season. He became a regular as the right side back and played 62 league games in two years.
• On March 14, 2016, he was called up for the trip to Portugal with the Japanese U-23 national team. He made his debut for the U-23 national team against Mexico. Two months later, he was called up to the Japanese U-23 national team for the 44th Toulon International Tournament in May, and played in all four matches.
• On August 21, 2017, he moved to the Dutch second division team SC Cambuur in Leeuwarden. During the 18-19 season, he scored one goal in 38 league games and was selected as one of the Eerste Divisie Best Eleven of the Year.
• He made a transfer to the Dutch first division club PEC Zwolle on July 9, 2019. During the the season of ‘20 – 21, he started in all 22 games and recorded 3 assists. SCISP selected as one of the top 3 Right-backs in the 1st division of the Netherlands In September 2020. In January 2021, he extended his contract until the summer of 2023.
・On 10 August 2022, van Wermeskerken returned to Cambuur for one season.

• 2013年7月オランダ1部FCドルトレヒトに所属。2015年5月10日に行われたエールディヴィジ第33節・FCトゥウェンテ戦に右サイドバックとしてフル出場し、トップチームデビューを果たす。2015年6月15日、クラブとプロ契約を締結。チームは翌シーズンから2部に降格したが、主に右サイドバックでレギュラーとして定着。2年間でリーグ戦62試合に出場。
• 2016年3月14日、U-23日本代表のメンバー発表でポルトガル遠征に初招集。メキシコ代表戦でU－23代表デビューを果たす。その2カ月後の5月に行われた第44回トゥーロン国際大会のU－23代表メンバーにも招集され、全4試合に出場。
• 2017年8月21日、オランダ2部のSCカンブール・レーワルデンに移籍。 18-19シーズンはリーグ戦38試合1得点を記録し、エールステ・ディヴィジ年間ベストイレブンにも選出された。
• 2019年7月9日、オランダ1部PECズウォレに移籍。20-21シーズンは開幕から全22試合に先発フル出場し、3アシストを記録。2020年９月、SciSports(国際的スポーツ分析会社)によりオランダ1部リーグのトップ３右サイドバッグに選出。2021年1月、2023年夏までの契約延長を発表。
2022年8月10日、オランダ1部SCカンブール・レーワルデンに復帰。
